Ernie McClanahan

56, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, in Savannah.  Born in Chicago, IL, he moved to Georgia in 1975 and lived in both Liberty County and Long County until his passing.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, telling stories, and drinking beer.  He was known to be a ramblin’ man and getting into mischief.  He loved his family and spending time with his loyal K-9 companion, Emma.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene McKendrick McClanahan.

Survivors are his daughter, Ashlee Raymon, his son, John Morgan (Mean Boy) McClanahan, both of Hinesville; father, Jack McClanahan of Ludowici; grandchildren, Stellah Rayman, Brantlee Rayman, Joseph Gilbert, Addalyn Rayman, and Lakyn Rayman; sister, Tammy Delort (Mike) of Townsend; nieces, Sharon Dasher (Brad) of Ludowici, and Dixie Corbin (Jordan) of Jesup; nephews, Earl Freeman (Kelsey) and Blake Strickland (Jordan) both of Ludowici; and special great-nephews, Chase DeLoach, Jaxson Dasher, and JW (Toot-Toot) Dasher.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Howard Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be on Thursday, January 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the funeral service at Baggs Cemetery.  Rev. Justin Gordon will be officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Desimone, Kyle McClanahan, Mike Holland, Dino Dees, Kevin Loury, and Charlie Murphey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lee McClanahan, Nathaniel (Peanut) Guest, Neil Hayes, and Bill Parker.

Remembrances are suggested to the family.
