Born Edward Earl Harris on June 10, 1957. Edward was educated in Long County Schools. Edward was a member of New Hope AME Church.
Edward Earl Harris passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy built not just with tools and grease-stained hands but with integrity, kindness, and quiet strength. He was a man who could fix almost anything – and did so with humility, precision, and pride. Born with a natural knack for understanding how things worked, Edward spent his life solving problems most of us couldn’t even name. As a mechanic, he brought engines roaring back to life, diagnosing issues with the instinct of someone who truly listened to machines. As a handyman, he restored homes, patched roofs, rewired lights, and made broken things whole again. But more than that, he gave people peace of mind – knowing that if something went wrong, he would be there.
He was the kind of man who showed up early, stayed late, and never left a job half-done. His work was his art, and his workshop was his sanctuary. Whether under the hood of a car or up on a ladder, he found purpose in every bolt tightened and every nail driven. He also loved fishing, gardening, landscaping, and planting flowers. God blessed him the earth to yield its increase to him. He was also a painter, completing many houses throughout Miami-Dade County.
Edward Earl leaves to cherish his precious memories to two sisters, Arletha (James) Baggs (Ludowici, GA), and Cynthia (Henry) Johnson (Miami, FL); three brothers, Larry (Elaine) Harris-Harnster (Brunswick, GA), Robert (Betty) Harris (Miami, FL), and Freddie (Danielle) Harris (Jesup, GA); five nieces, Tammy, Shylanda, Latoya, Tryana, and Madison; six nephews, Antonio, Robert Jr., Larry Jr., Raheim, Cameron, and Javonta; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Funeral services will be on Friday, August 29, at 11:00 AM at New Hope AME Church in Ludowici. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Ludowici.
