Ludowici – Dorcas Mary Pitts, 73, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, under the care of her family and GHC Hospice. Born in Miami, FL, she lived in Long County most of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper, was a homemaker, and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and crafting creations for newborns at her church. She was a member of New Life Church in Jesup and was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Pitts, siblings, Charlotte Bacon, Charles Parker, Frank Parker, and David Parker, great-grandson, Ryder Fowler, and son-in-law, Murray Odum.
Survivors are her daughter, Teresa Odum of Ludowici; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Pitts, II and Donna of Ludowici, and Jacob Pitts and Candi of Jesup; brothers, Freddie Parker of Port Orchard, WA, and Joe Parker and wife Beebie, of Bland, VA; grandchildren, Roy Fowler (Samantha), Tabitha Pitts, Donovan Pitts, Taylor Jaramillo, Marissa Pitts, Tristen Pitts (Samantha), Asher Pitts, Abby Pitts, and Colton Odum; great-grandchildren, Haley, Blake, Hunter, Bentley, Gage, Grayson, and Raylynn; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 14, at 11 AM at Compass Worship Center with Rev. Byron Powers and Rev. Justin Drawdy officiating. Burial will follow in Baggs Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, from 6-8 PM at Compass Worship Center.
Active pallbearers will be Edward Pitts, II, Jacob Pitts, Tristen Pitts, Asher Pitts, Tabitha Pitts, and Roy Fowler.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Mossy Oaks.
