Diana Carol Davis Bynum, 75, of Walthourville, Georgia is finally at peace in the arms of Jesus. Diane was born April 26, 1950, in Roanoke Rapids, NC to Jean Arthur Davis and Linwood Lawrence Davis, Jr. Diane was known for her wonderful sense of humor, her kindness and big heart, the deep love she had for her daughters, Kim and Keri, and of course her amazing dance moves. She could cut a rug by doing the Carolina Shag! Being a mom, wife, sister, daughter, and Grandma D were her greatest joys. Diane’s sisters, Betty Jo and Jerri Lynn and her Aunt Brenda K were her lifelong best friends and beach trip buddies. She loved those gals so very much! Diane was raised in Murfreesboro, NC and graduated from Murfreesboro High School in 1968 where she was co-captain of the cheer squad, DECA Sweetheart, and Best Looking of her class.
Diane will be deeply missed by everyone who was blessed to know her, love her, and be loved by her. We all know she is making everyone laugh in Heaven and is overjoyed to be reunited with her mom, dad, and her aunt & best friend, Brenda K. Diane was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jean Davis and Lawrence Davis, and her stepmother, Betty Davis.
She is survived by her husband of almost 45 years, Jimmy Ray Bynum of Walthourville, GA; her 2 daughters, Kimberly Ann Wiseman (Michael) of Sunset Beach, NC, and Keri English Sowers of Savannah, GA; her step-son, Mike Bynum (Dee) of Lucama, NC; 6 granddaughters whom she loved with all her heart; her namesake, Meghan Diana Harken (Rhett), Lily Bailes, Cameron Gale (Brighton), Emma Emmett (Nick), Ella Burke, and Chloe Bynum. Diane is also survived by her wonderful, beloved sisters, Jerri Lynn Allen (George) of Midlothian, VA and Betty Jo Davis (Micheal Creech) of Greensburg, IN, niece, Claire Quinn and nephew, Taylor Allen and their families.
