Ludowici – Deborah M. Brown, 68, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, under the care of her family and Hospice of South Georgia. Born in NJ, she lived in Southeast Georgia most of her life. She began teaching at Faith Baptist Christian Academy in Ludowici in 1980 where she served faithfully for 42 years. Over the years she not only taught the children of several generations, but built lasting, nurturing relationships with them. She was a faithful and loyal servant of Faith Baptist Church as a member for over 42 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, cheering on her granddaughters in their respective sports events, usually the loudest from the stands! She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Brown, son, Kevin Brown, siblings, Karen and Georgie, and 3 infant grandchildren.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Diedra Howard and Jerrod of Ludowici; sons and daughters-in-law, William Jay Brown, III and Jessica of Fleming, Michael Brown and Lori of Ludowici, Matthew Brown and Alexis of Jesup; sisters, Joann Kraszewski and Vivian Stokesberry of NJ; brothers and sister-in-law, Donald Avant and Betty, and Joe Avant of NJ, and Billy Avant of Brunswick; grandchildren, Charlotte Brown, Lindsey Brown, Kylie Brown, Addy Brown, Saylor Howard, Anna Howard, Jaylyn Fuller, and Shelby Brown; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 30 at 3 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Ludowici with Rev. Terry Sellars and Rev. Matthew Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Hinesville Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Active pallbearers will be former students, Austin Maynard, Andrew Maynard, Riley Jarrett, Aiden Massey, Matthew Sellars, and Nick Avery.
