Sanderson, FL - David Benjamin Wright, age 68, of Sanderson, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born on September 22, 1956, in Brunswick, Georgia, to JB and Jane Wright. David grew up in Jacksonville and after graduation, he entered the Air Force where he served for four years. David later made his home in Baker County and worked for Northeast Florida Telephone as an installer for several years. He was an avid hunter and loved hunting and spending time with his dad. David was an organ donor. David was preceded in death by his dad and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss his mother, Jane Stafford Wright of Jacksonville; sisters, Jamie Wilson (Joe) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Kim Stephens of Canton, Georgia; brother, Kevin (Kimmi) of Rustburg, Virginia; nieces, Rachel Parks (Tyler) and Jordan Wilson, both of Tampa; nephew, Joseph Wilson (Adrienne) of Bethesda, Maryland; great-niece, Hannah Parks; aunts, Dorthy Skinner of Jacksonville and Marlene Stafford of San Antonio, Texas; and uncle, Fred Wright (Stephanie) of Glen St. Mary. David also leaves behind his close companion and dear friend, Nina Morgan; stepchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, and Justin; step-grandchildren, Maci and Grayson; numerous cousins in Florida, Georgia, and Texas; along with many friends at Gator Patricks Tavern in Macclenny.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. David will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
