Darrell Maulden

Ludowici – Darrell Ernest Maulden, 62, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, under the care of his family and GHC Hospice.  Born in Jesup, he lived in Long County all his life.  After retiring from Derst Baking Company, Darrell worked for the Long County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator until his health failed.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, an outdoorsman and member of Bear Island Hunting Club.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Louise Johnston Maulden, and nephew, Stephen Edmondson.

Survivors are his wife, Melissa Maulden of Ludowici; daughter, Stacie Allen of Ludowici; sons, Darrell Maulden, Jr. (Amber Dasher) of Ludowici, and Jason Allen (Vickie) of Glennville; sister, Anita Edmondson (Jeff) of Ludowici; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 26 from 6-8 PM at A New Beginning Church.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 27 at 1 PM at A New Beginning Church with Rev. Tom Gardner officiating.

Burial will follow in Baggs Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Norman Morris, Donald Parker, Jeffrey Edmondson, Jr., Clay Long, Robbie Althouse, and Chris Carter, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Royce Maulden, Mike McClelland, Sr., Kenny Long, and Edward Walker.
