Ludowici – Daniel Edgar Skipper, 80, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, under the care of his family and GHC Hospice. A native and lifelong resident of Long County, he retired from the NGTC on Ft. Stewart with over 20 years of service, drove a school bus for the Long County School System, and was a farmer. He enjoyed time outdoors hunting and spending time with his family. Dan was a member of First Baptist Ludowici and was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Skipper, and stepdaughter, Wendy Dasher.
Survivors are a step-daughter, Lisa Moody (Richard Roberts) of Ludowici; step-sons, Irbie Moody and Charles Moody of Ludowici; brother, Clarence Skipper (Julie) of Ludowici; five grandchildren, Charlie Hall (Emily), Melissa Petoff (Eric), Kristen Chancey (Tyler), Brandy Dunham (Bo), and Christie Rogers (Nathan); niece and nephew, Tonda Bierly and Robbie Skipper (Shana); several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 17 from 6-8 PM at Howard Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 18 at 11 AM at First Baptist Ludowici with David Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Daylen Petoff, Jace Petoff, Folsom Pound, Rence Skipper, Bryson Lyons, Brantley Hall, and Dillon Dunham.
