Dale (Wells) Long

Ludowici – Barbara Dale Long, 70, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup.  She was a native and lifelong resident of Long County.  Dale loved her Lord and served Him faithfully.  She also loved spending time with her family and fishing.  She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nora Lee Wells, siblings, Carrie Mae Wells, Cecil Wells, Melvin (Delia) Wells, and Lloyd Wells, and brother-in-law, Byron Ray.

Survivors are her husband of 46 years, Rev. Robert Long of Ludowici; daughter, Casey Nicole Ray (Mark) of Ludowici; son, Mike Long (Tammy) of Ludowici; grandchildren, Trevor Ray, Evan Ray, and Brandon Long, of Ludowici; sisters, Hazel Stafford (Cecil), and Deleita Ray; brothers, Richard Wells (Debi), and Edward Wells (Louise); sisters-in-law, Barbara Wells and Ellen Wells; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Monday, January 15 at 11 AM at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Kelly officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 14 from 6-8 PM at Howard Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Stephen Stafford, Eddie Wells, Robert Wells, Joey Wells, Trent Wells, and Mike Long.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of South Georgia.
