Charlie Gaskin

Allenhurst – Charles M. “Charlie” Gaskin, 86, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, at his residence.  A native and lifelong resident of Liberty County, he was retired from Life of Georgia as an agent after 30+ years of service.  He was retired from the Georgia Army National Guard and had previously served as a Liberty County Commissioner.  His sister, Betty Jean Bentley, and brothers, Carl “Red” Gaskin, Bruce Gaskin, Herbert Gaskin, and Meyers Gaskin, preceded him in death.

Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck Gaskin and Tina of Harris Neck, Jeff Gaskin, Matt Gaskin and Wendy of Allenhurst; daughter and son-in-law, Terri Green and Bill of Atlanta; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 31 from 2-7 PM at Dorchester Shooting Preserve, 2640 Sunbury Road, Midway, GA 31520.

Graveside services will be on Friday, September 1 at 10 AM at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kirby Hodges, Jamie Story, Jimmy Cornett, Benny Hulette, Kevin Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Jr.,  Ed Blake, Wayne Brookshire, Heidi Waxweiler, and Eddie Walden.
