Belleville – Lawrence Edison “Chance” Chandler LaRoche, IV, 30, died Sunday, November 7, 2021, at his residence. Born in Savannah, he lived in McIntosh County all his life. He was a commercial shrimper, working the waters of both the Atlantic coast and the Gulf of Mexico. Chance graduated with honors from Youth Challenge, was a hard worker who never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. He honed his excellent cooking skills at restaurants on Saint Simons Island, enjoyed shooting pool, and time spent with family and friends. He was baptized into South Newport Baptist Church when he was younger. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jr. and Mitzi LaRoche and Earl Wells.
Survivors are his mother, Debra Sue Loura of Alma; father, Lawrence LaRoche, III of Crescent; sisters and brother-in-law, Alysia and Christopher Strickland of Brantley County and Annemarie Guest of Alma; brother, Ace Trutt of Alma; maternal grandmother, Betty Register of Brantley County; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial services will be Saturday, November 13, at 3 PM at Eulonia Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Danny Stilwell officiating.
