Carolyn (Williams) Hoyt

Townsend – On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Carolyn Hoyt moved to her heavenly home.  Carolyn was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that would last a lifetime.  Nana was born in Cox, GA on May 29, 1943, to W. E. “Bunk” and Lois Gordon Williams.  Later, she married Jack Hoyt and remained so for over 61 years.  To know her was to know Jesus.  She was a true witness for Christ who continually served the Lord.  Jesus healed her body of cancer, and she would gladly share her testimony with anyone who would listen.  Indeed, her walking in faith inspired many.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ouida Thomas. 

She is survived by her husband, Jack Hoyt of Townsend; sons, Dink (Angie) Hoyt of Kingsland and Hank (Denise) Hoyt of Townsend; a sister, Annette Amerson of Crescent; grandchildren, Will Hoyt (Kat), Amber Larisey (Josh), Stormie Dasher, Matt Amerson, Connor Hoyt, Shelby Hoyt, Chandler Smith (Bailey), and Ryan Sawyer (Rayen); great-grandchildren, Bryce, Paisley, Arrie, McKenna, Luke, Wilder, Lawson, Rousey, Mason, Hayes, and Hadleigh; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, May 19 at 3 PM at Howard Funeral Home in Ludowici.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel.

The private burial will be on Monday, May 20 in the Whispering Pines Cemetery in Darien.

Active pallbearers will be Will Hoyt, Matt Amerson, Connor Hoyt, Chandler Smith, Ryan Sawyer, Gregg Amerson, and Josh Larisey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Larisey, Rob Miller, Seth Miller, Kevin Rewis, Cal Bennett, and Kevin Nelson.
