Darien – Harold D. “Bubba” Young, 56, died Friday, April 22, 2022, in Savannah. He was a native and lifelong resident of McIntosh County and retired from McIntosh County Road Department after 34 years of service as Assistant Supervisor. An avid outdoorsman, Bubba enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cookouts with his family and friends, and was a member of the Sheep Lot Hunting Club. He was a member of Youngs Island Community Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Hattie Mae Young, and a brother, Joe Young.
Survivors are his wife, Wendy Young of Darien; daughters, Christina Charpentier (Adam) of Darien, and Jessica Sailors (Nicholas Holland) of Cox; sisters, Margie Hope (Clarey), and Margaret Young (Judy Zalumas) of Townsend; brother, Ronal Young of Jones; granddaughter, Braylen Williams of Darien; several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 7, at 2 PM from Darien Church of God with Revs. Danny Stilwell, Wayne Johnson, and Carl Griffen officiating.
