Obituary
Ludowici – William Edward “Billy” Pennington, 83, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at his residence. Born in Jefferson County, he lived in Liberty County most of his life, recently moving to Long County a few months ago. He retired from NAPA after working in their stores in Louisville, Hinesville, Midway, and Glennville for nearly 60 years. He was a member of Compass Worship Center where he played piano for 20 years and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Valerie Lynn Pennington, and his brother, Elton Pennington.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Martha Pennington; daughter and son-in-law, Anissa Edwards and David; grandchildren, Lane Edwards and Emma Edwards, all of Ludowici; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 1, at 1 PM in the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justin Gordon officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.
Burial will follow in Baggs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be his family members.
