Billy Corbett

Darien – Billy Corbett, 80, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, under the care of his family and GHC Hospice.  Born in Jacksonville, FL, he lived in McIntosh County most of his life and retired from the City of Darien after 28 years of service.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and time spent with family.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Corbett.

Survivors are his companion, Cheryl O’Neal; children, Lori Thomas, Sean (Katie) O’Neal, and Mike O’Neal, all of Darien; grandchildren, Jordon (Carlton) Sawyer, Corbin (Jason) Poppell, and Madison (Jacob) Ammons; 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday, August 19 at 10 AM at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Darien with Pastor Justin Smith officiating.

The family will receive visitors at the cemetery.
