Darien – William Herbert “Big Pete” Moody, 64, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Brunswick. He was born in Brunswick and lived in Darien most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Pete’s Appliance Repair for more than 30 years, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and time spent with his family. Big Pete never met a stranger and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He attended Darien Church of God and was preceded in death by his siblings, Leroy Moody, Mary Alice Wilbur-Stenander, and Hendley Moody.
Survivors are his wife, Belinda Moody; daughter, Amy Moody; son, William “Little Pete” Moody (Marie); step-children, Stephanie Williams (William, III), and Joshua Sweat (Dani); step-father, James Corlette; sisters, Joyce Outlaw (Ronnie) and Norma Jean Gardner, all of Darien, and Trudy Morrison of Tennessee; brothers, Leon Moody (Jackie) of Brunswick, James Moody, Charles Moody (Donna), Tony Moody (Jan), and Russell Moody, all of Darien; grandchildren, Alyssa Moody, Clayton Moody, Leland Moody, Elaine Williams, Micha Moody, Analyn Moody, Heather Warren, Anna Williams, Gabriella Williams, Braylen Williams, Raylon Pritchett, Valerie Williams, Laythen Williams, and Sarabeth Jackson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, at 2 PM at Darien Church of God with Pastor Tommy Whaley officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 – 2 PM before the service at the church.
