Ludowici – Betty Jean Deason, 83, died Monday, May 3, 2021 at home under the care of her family and Hospice of South Georgia. Born and raised in Millen, she lived most of her life in Hinesville and in Long County the past twenty-four years. She worked for H & R Block for twenty years, was a homemaker, and enjoyed time spent at the Long County Senior Center. She attended Poplar Head Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Deason, grandson, Mark Horne, Jr., and brother, Henry Burke.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Donald Oldham of Hinesville and Amy Horne and Kurt Groskurth of Ludowici; sister-in-law, Betty Burke of Rome; grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Rizshea, Rizshelle, Breann, Makailah, Savannah, Jordan, Jessica, and Heather.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 6 at 11 AM at Crossroads Holy Church of God with Rev. Jeptha Newberry and Rev. Mike Cowart officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Millen.
