Hinesville – Bennie F. West, 69, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of South Georgia. Born in Louisville, GA he had lived in Liberty County most of his life. He owned and operated West Home Repairs and was co-owner of Hinesville Learning Center and the KIA Club in Ludowici. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and camping, serving with his wife as campground hosts at several state parks in Georgia. He was a member of Compass Worship Center in Ludowici where he enjoyed serving his Lord.
Survivors are his wife of 49+ years, Joyce West of Hinesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Donnie Hawkins of Hinesville and Jennifer and Chris Brinkley of Ludowici; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Pam West of Hinesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Kevin Grossenbach of Ludowici and Angie and Jerry Bauman of Midway; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren (one on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30 at 2 PM at Compass Worship Center with Pastors Byron Powers, Art Stoddard, Josh Mayfield, and Gary Ledford officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, January 29 from 6-8 PM at Howard Funeral Home.
