Cannon Bluff – Barbara Lavern (Campbell) Wallace, 92, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, in Jesup. She was born in Screven (Wayne County) and grew up there and in Vidalia, and was a homemaker and Avon Representative. She enjoyed embroidery and working in her rose bushes and amaryllis. She worshipped the Lord at Morgans Chapel (that she called Granny Essie’s church) and South Newport Assembly of God, and was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wallace, sister, Theresa Harris, brothers, Jack, Russell, and Bill Campbell, and son-in-law, Donald Westberry.
Survivors are her daughters, Marjorie Westberry and Gloria Jean Wallace of Cannon Bluff; grandson, Don Hal “Bubba” Westberry of Jesup; great-grandson, Emory; brother, Alfred Campbell of Moore, SC; cousin, Joyce Lowery of Ashland City, TN, several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, May 9, at 11 AM at Morgans Chapel Church, with Rev. Larry Stricklin officiating. The burial will be in Morgans Chapel Cemetery.
