Barbara (Branson) Moore

Meridian – Barbara Susan Moore, 82, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, under the care of her family and Heartland Hospice.  Born in Townsend, she traveled with her husband during his military career and returned to McIntosh County in 1972.  She retired from Candler Hospital as an inventory control clerk and was a volunteer firefighter with the McIntosh County Fire Department for over 20 years.  She enjoyed playing the air guitar in her church choir, gardening, fishing, traveling, sewing, and Friday family gatherings at home.  She was a member of Crescent Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” Moore, Sr., parents, Albert, Sr. and Susan Wallace Branson, and brother, Albert Branson, Jr.

Survivors are her daughter, Alisha Rozier of Meridian; sons, William R. Moore, Jr. (Patty) of Ellabell and Paul Moore (Alydia) of Deridder, LA; a sister, Shirley Cox (Randy) of Jesup; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 3 PM at Crescent Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Ellis officiating. Private Burial will be at Morgans Chapel Cemetery.
