Avis Futch

Ludowici – Avis Futch, 69, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024, at her home under the care of her family and Your Family Hospice.  The lifelong resident of Long County enjoyed knitting, growing beautiful flowers, cooking, and most of all talking a little trash.  Avis loved her whole family, even if she didn’t get to tell them every day.  She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lillie Mae Futch; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane Smart (Ernest) and Carolyn Brooks (John); brother and sister-in-law, David Futch, Jr. (Joan); grandchildren, Terrance Johnson, Jr. and Trenaija Johnson.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Utesa Escudera (Julio), Sohela Crawford, both of Savannah, Shaneen Johnson (Terrance) of Ludowici, and Lillie Mae Polite (Joseph) of Atlanta; son, Tommy David Futch of Savannah; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 6 PM at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
