Ludowici – Angela Suzanne Ammons, 78, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.  Born in Ft. Wayne, IN, she lived at times in TX, WV, and MD, settling back in Long County in 2019.  Over her working years, she held many interesting jobs, but mostly in nursing.  An avid animal lover, she took in strays and gave them love and comfort.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ammons, son, Lonnie McDowell, and granddaughter, Sam St. Clair.

Survivors are her daughter, Sharlene Fore (Bobby) of Ludowici; adopted daughter, Annette Crowe of Lexington, KY; sons, Jerry Fowler, Jr. (Michele), James McDowell, and Travis McDowell of Ludowici, Greg Fowler (Becky) of Algona, IA, Jarrod McDowell of Reidsville, and Steven McDowell of Allenhurst; brothers, Robert Waikel and Steven Waikel (Greere) of Gatlinburg, TN; 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 2 at 2 PM at the Howard Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Smith officiating.  Visitation will be from 1-2 PM before the service.

The burial will be in West Virginia.
