Ludowici – Susan Marcia Cooper, 59, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. Born in Rockwood, TN, she had lived in Long County the last thirty-three years. She was a homemaker and a former bus driver for Long County Transit and was a US Army veteran. She was associated with St. Phillip Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Dale Cooper, Sr., parents, Jim and Dorothy Mitchell, and brother, Roger Mitchell.
Survivors are her daughter, Shamika Cooper of Ludowici; sons, Lonnie Dale Cooper, Jr. of Ludowici and Craig Cooper (Sharon) of Hinesville; companion, Michael Brittingham of Ludowici; sisters-in-law, Larcenia Walthour (Peter), Mary Hamilton, Rose Marie Harris (Robert Lee), Mary Ann Cooper, and Tammie Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Ernest Cooper (Gwen) and David Cooper; adopted son, J. R. Barnard; five grandchildren, Jytaiaja, Jakiyah, Jaykalyn, Jennaya, and Exzavior; five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15 at 4 PM in the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David McCall, Minister Bobby Hall and Minister Jeannie Worthy officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.
