Ludowici – Stewart Allen Scott, 72, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his home under the care of his family and Georgia Hospice Care. Born in Meldrim, he had lived most of his life in Effingham County, several years in Boston, MA, and the last two months in Long County. He was a former chief deputy with the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department and an inspector for Gulfstream Aerospace for several years. He was a US Marine Corp veteran having served four tours in Vietnam and was a P.O.W. during the war. He was a Baptist and preceded in death by his wife, Betty Scott.
Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Shelly Graham and Lloyd of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Clifton and Michelle of Ludowici; sister, Sue Dean Scott of Statesboro; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be private with entombment in the Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
