Hinesville – Richard Curtis Mason, 71, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Montrose, CO and had lived in Liberty County since 2004. He retired as a truck driver with Interstate Trucking and Wall Timber. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving three combat tours. He loved to fish and enjoyed making knives and carving wood. He was a member of Life United Pentecostal Church in Hinesville.
Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Michele Mason of Hinesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dean Freeman of Topeka, KS and Paula and Timothy Sutton of Sevierville, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Mason and Joshua and Ashley Mason of Ludowici and Benjamin and Brittany Mason of Jesup; sisters, Pauline Lower of Riverton, WY and Cassie McDonnell of Rawlins, WY; brother and sister-in-law, John and Shirlene Mason of Connell, WA; 18 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14 at 1 PM at Life United Pentecostal Church in Hinesville with Bishop Thomas Crutchfield officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13 from 6-8 PM at Howard Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
Active pallbearers will be Curtis Mason, Joshua Mason, Richard Mason, James Rozier, Douglas Kettle, and David Midgorden.
