Randy L Dawson

Ludowici – Randal L. Dawson, 62, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Candler Hospital in Savannah.  He had lived in Long County most of his life and was owner and operator of Randy’s Nationwide Towing until his health failed.  He was an outdoorsman who also enjoyed drag racing.  Randy had a big heart and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Linda Strickland Dawson and grandson, Cole DeLoach.

Survivors are his wife, Shelly Dawson of Ludowici; daughters, Jennifer Dawson and Angie Smith of Ludowici; son and daughter-in-law, Chet and Trida Smith of Ludowici; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Jake McClain of Glennville; brothers and sisters-in-law, R. L. and Yvonne Dawson, Buster and Sherry Dawson of Ludowici and Thomas Dawson of Glennville; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 20 at 11 AM at Howard Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Kelly officiating.  Burial will follow in Hinesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Derrick Landon, Red Jackson, Earl Austin, R.L. Dawson, Norman Morris and Lee Johnson.
