Edward Schmitt Obituary
Darien – Edward J. Schmitt, 74, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 under the care of his family and Georgia Hospice Care. He was a native and lifelong resident of Connecticut. He retired from Rotary Corporation as a salesman after 21 years of service. He loved outdoor motorsports, particularly riding snowmobiles in winter and motorcycles in spring and summer. He also enjoyed traveling in his motorhome. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Wilford Middleton, Jr. and brother, Donny Schmitt.
Survivors are his wife, Glenda Bacon Schmitt of Newington, CT; daughters and sons-in-law, Cara Beneski and Timothy of Hawaii and Jennifer Pratt and Mark of Newington; mother, Marcella Schmitt of Newington; step-daughters, Anita Dickinson and Patricia Nieber and Roland all of Darien; two brothers, Kenny Schmitt and Jeffery Schmitt of Newington; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in Connecticut.
