Ludowici – Edmond Jerrell Moody, 83, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at his home under the care of his family and Georgia Hospice Care. He was born in Savannah, Georgia on May 25, 1935 and had lived in Hinesville where he graduated from Bradwell Institute, class of 1953. He had lived in Long County the last 32 years and was retired from the National Guard Con-Site Center at Fort Stewart and was a member of the Georgia National Guard for 28 years. He was a member and served as deacon at Jones Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the Adult Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by a son Jerre Moody of Hinesville; his parents Allen and Laura Moody of Jesup and his brothers Jack and Alfred Moody.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Parker Moody of Ludowici; children Janice Moody Chambers (Bucky) of Douglas, Joel Moody (Kathy) of Hinesville; grandchildren Tyler and Bailey Chambers of Douglas; great-nieces, Amy Parker Odum (John) of Ludowici, and Kaitlyn McComas and great-nephew Jonathon Tighe; a brother, Kermit Moody (Kathy) of Greensboro and a sister, Edith Moody Chester of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Heather Arney, J.D. Miller, and Curtis Miller.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Stokes officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.
Burial will follow in the Jones Creek Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Joe Parker, Don Dasher, Harry Middleton, John Durrence, Ron Sharpe, and Jay Blocker
