Ludowici – Ms. Eddie Harrell Callaway, 83, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 surrounded by her children and grandchildren as she fell asleep for the last time here on earth to awaken in the arms of Jesus. A native of Nashville, TN, she traveled as a military wife until her husband’s retirement, then lived most of her life in Liberty and Long Counties. She retired from civil service at Ft. Stewart and was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd “Shorty” Harrell and Paul Callaway; grandson, Jason Overholser; brothers, Harlis Pippin and Roger Pippin; sister, Willa Dean Pippin.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Doolittle, Diana Anderson and Jeff of Ludowici, Connie Overholser, Joyce McIntyre and Gary of Hinesville, and Lisa Thoele and Dan of Corydon, IN; sister, Nina Jones of Hinesville; brother, John D. Pippin of Elkton, KY; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 2 at 10 AM at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Rentz and Rev. Storm Rush officiating. Burial will follow in the Oglethorpe Memorial Park Cemetery in Hinesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 1 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
