Lana Skelton

Dr. Lana Skelton, 82, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Harborview in Jesup.  Born in Orange County, FL., she moved to St. Simons Island when she was 10 years old.  Dr. Skelton attended the Medical College of Georgia and graduated in 1966.  She did her Residency and Fellowship at Tulane University & Charity Hospital in New Orleans from 1967-1972.  Moving back to St. Simons after her Fellowship, she opened her practice in 1976, specializing in Cardiology until 2018.  She loved watching movies in theaters and collecting DVDs.  Dr. Skelton was loved by many, and she was always willing to help others.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Skelton.

Survivors are her daughter-in-love and husband, Questa and Bruce Tingler; grandchildren, Thomas Lynn Skelton, Jr., Lauren Olivia Thomas (Steven), Austyn Marvin Skelton, and Rachel Shea Tingler.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2 at 11 AM at Grace Point Worship Center in Fleming with Pastor John Stoddard officiating. 

Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.
