Ludowici – Barbara Gayle Davis, 80, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup. Born in the Donald Community of Long County, she lived in Ohio for twenty-five years, returning to Long County several years ago. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband in his various jobs, including over the road truck driving, even obtaining her own commercial driver’s license. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and an avid NASCAR fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, John B. and Alma Flournoy, siblings, Jakie Stelling, Victor Flournoy, and Jimmy Flournoy, sister-in-law, Jerri Flournoy, and nephew, Jason Flournoy.
Survivors are her husband of 45 years, Billy Davis of Ludowici; daughters, Lisa Paden (Tom) of New Carlisle, OH and Lynn Simmons of Ludowici; sister, Sandi Ahlbrand (Bruce) of Port Charlotte, FL; brother, Richard Flournoy of Cartersville; grandchildren, Jordan Davis, Jonathan Davis, Waylon Simmons, Cameron Simmons, and Wayne Simmons; great-granddaughter, Paislee Simmons; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 16 at 2 PM at Jones Creek Baptist Church with her nephew, Vic Flournoy officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Creek Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
