Ludowici - Warden J. Moody, 91, passed away Thursday April 18 at Memorial Health in Savannah after a short illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Long County and was retired from the Highway Dept. in Glennville as a mechanic. He was a member of Pigot Branch Baptist Church. Survivors are a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Frank Surrency; a brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Annette Moody, all of Jesup; numerous nieces and nephews, including his caregiver, Brenda Wingate; a Special Friend, Clara Bell Waters of Glennville. Visitation will be Saturday April 20 from 6-8 P.M. at the Howard Funeral Home in Ludowici. Funeral Services will be Sunday, April 21 at 2:00 P.M. from the Pigot Branch Baptist Church with Rev. James O. Young and Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bill Wingate, Mike Wingate, Jerry Moody, Harmon Moody, Roy DeLoach, Jamie DeLoach, Owen DeLoach, and Waldo Cail. Honorary pallbeares will be Gus Nobles, Duck DeLoach, Dale Yeomans, Mike Howard, Baxter Howard, Garnal Blocker, Mike Reddish, Eddie Dasher, Jeffery Dasher, and William Moody. Howard Funeral Home of Ludowici is in charge of the arrangements.
